Before we are "saved" or "born again", we are separated from God because of our sins. No matter how good life might be, this separation from God causes us to feel an unexplainable void in our lives. In order to end our separation from God, we need to be purified. God sent Jesus to die, or cleanse us, from ALL of our sins-past, present, and future.
God has offered us this gift of "salvation" or IMMEDIATE cleansing of all our sins, on a few conditions: that we admit we are sinners, that we acknowledge that Jesus Christ died for our sins, and that we surrender to and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. When we get "saved" or "born again", we are "justified" or in other words, God sees us "Just If I'd" never sinned.
No one deserves to have all of their sins wiped out, but 'God so loved the world, that He sent His only begotten Son to die so that our relationship with Him could be restored and we can be in His presence--now and forever.' When you get "saved", the Holy Spirit comes to live in your heart with a fullness of peace, power, and purpose...

Salvation Prayer (or prayer you can say to get "saved/born again.")
"That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9)
Dear God,
I recognize that I have not been living my life for you. I have been living for myself and that is wrong. I am so sorry for my sins. Please forgive me. I need You in my life; I want You in my life. Thank you for sending Jesus to take the punishment for my sins by dying for me on the cross. I long to receive the forgiveness you have made freely available to me through this sacrifice.I surrender. I give myself to you. Wash me clean of every sin and all my shame. Come and live in me. I receive you into my heart right now as my Lord and Savior. Now your mine and I'm yours. From this day forward, I will no longer be controlled by sin, or the desire to please myself, but through the power of the Holy Spirit will follow You all the days of my life.I'm saved! My sins are forgiven. I'm on my way to heaven and through knowledge of You, I'm going to learn how to enjoy the journey!
In Jesus name,
Amen
